Budget Committee
Budget Committee is a standing committee of the Treasury that decides semesterly allocations to student groups and develops many Student Union spending policies.
Currently there are 3-4 open positions on Budget Committee. If you are interested please learn more and apply to Budget Committee.
Constitutional Council
The Constitutional Council is made up of Chief Justice, 4 associate justices, and 2 alternate justices who interpret the Student Union constitution and statutes. The Constitutional Council also handles grievances and tries all cases of impeachment.
Currently there are no open positions on the Constitutional Council.
Election Commission
The Election Commission assists with the promotion of Student Union elections, conducts elections, enforces policies during campaign periods, certifies election results and creates election rules.
There are currently 7 open positions on the Election Commission. For more information about the application process for these positions, please contact the election commissioners by email at elections@su.wustl.edu.
Freshman Class Council
The Freshman Class Council (FCC) represents the interests and needs of the freshman class to the entire WUSTL community. The FCC has several responsibilities including developing class pride and unity, and implementing social events for the freshman class.
Freshman Class Council elections are scheduled for September 16th and September 17th. If you are interested in being a candiate please go to the election center to learn more information and download an election packet. You may also nominate a freshman to run for a freshman class council position.
Green Events Commission
The Green Events Commission is an adhoc auxilary committee under the Executive Branch that seeks to make campus events more enviornmentally sustainable by accomplishing two objectives:
- Offering consulting services to students groups who seek to voluntarily make their campus events more environmentally sustainable.
- Conducting research to determine best sustainability practices. This research will be shared with the Special Executive Task Force for Sustainable Events.
The Green Events Commission is open to all undergraduate students via an application process. For more information, contact the Executive Advisor for Sustainability by email at sustainability@su.wustl.edu
Ground Team
The Ground Team consists of students in each residential house who are tasked with making the students around them more aware, active, and engaged in campus issues.
There are opportunities on the Ground Team for students that live in the following residential houses:

WU/FUSED (Wash. U. For Undergraduate Socio-economic Diversity)
The Joint Committee on Socioeconomic Diversity is a partnership between Student Union Senate and a broad array of student groups, with the goal of finding ways to improve socioeconomic diversity in the undergraduate population at Washington University while also achieving enhanced community recognition of this diversity. The committee is pursuing this goal through three avenues:
- working to increase Washington University’s financial resources for undergraduate financial aid by making this goal a focus of the University’s fundraising campaigns;
- partnering with University departments to develop and implement policy changes to create a more accepting environment for students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds; and
- collaborating with a wide range of students and student groups to encourage community dialogue regarding socioeconomic diversity, and therein improving student awareness of the issue and creating a more accepting environment for students from all socioeconomic backgrounds.

Public Relations Committee
The Public Relations committee is chaired by the Vice President of Public Relations and is responsible for coordinating Student Union publicity efforts and advising student groups on event publicity.
Currently there are no open positions on the Public Relations Committee.
Recruitment & Retention Committee
The Recruitment and Retention committee is chaired by the Vice President of Administration and is responsible for the recruitment and retention of Student Union representatives. The Recruitment and Retention committee works with the Election Commission and the Public Relations Committee to perform recruitment and outreach efforts. The committee also plans monthly social events for recruitment efforts.
Currently there are no open positions on the Recruitment and Retention Committee.
Senate
Senate is one house within the Legislative Branch that passes legislation concerning matters of University policy. Senators are elected from each of the five undergraduate academic divisions. Senate elections are in November, but students can apply for seat vaccancies in their primary academic divisions. School Councils will review applications and make appointments to their respective open seats.

Senate Committees
Each of the Senate standing committes, Academic Affairs, Campus Services, and University Initatives, are open to all undergraduate students. Students may become voting members of either committee during a regular session by attending two regular meetings of the committee during that same session.

Sophomore Class Council Cabinet
Positions open in sophomore Class Council Cabinet. Cabinet members help plan and execute events for the sophomore class. They also are key advocates for their class to other Student Union members as well as the administration. If your interested in joining cabinet please fill out the application below. The deadline for applying is September 8th at 5.p.m

Student Group Activities Committee
The Student Group Activities Committee (SGAC) is a standing committee of Treasury that serves as the liason to all category student groups. SGAC registers and deregisters student groups and oversees the resources they use. SGAC representatives conduct yearly reviews of student groups to monitor their progress and recommends appropriate action to Treasury.
SGAC applications will be available on the week of August 23rd. If you are interested in applying for SGAC, please plan to attend one the committee's open meetings. For more information about the application and dates/times of open meetings, please email sgac@su.wustl.edu.
Student Groups
There are over 220 Student Union recognized student groups that plan amazing campus events and programs. There are student groups of nearly every type: academic, social action, religious, recreational, arts, entertainment, media, health, and cultural.
There are several ways to get involved with student groups:

- You can learn more information and join student groups on The Link.
- You can create your own student group and apply for SU recognition.
Treasury
Treasury is one house in the legislative branch that passes legislation concerning Student Union monies. Treasury Representatives are elected by students at large, and represent up to 300 constituents.
Currently there are no open positions on Treasury.
